HOW YOU CAN HELP

There are SO many opportunities to become involved with our organization and help the homeless animals in our community! No matter what kind of activities you like to do or how much time you have available, there is a way to support FCHS that’s right for you.

  • VOLUNTEER – Volunteers are vitally important to our success. As a volunteer, you choose the activities you’re interested in and how much time you have to give. Any amount of time you are able to give makes a difference – whether it is an hour a month, several days a week, or anything in between! Please scroll down this page to see a list of some of the ways you can volunteer...

  • FOSTER – Sometimes animals come into our shelter in need of a little extra TLC outside the shelter environment. Many of them are very young kittens and puppies that can easily get sick in the shelter. If you become a foster parent, you will take care of vulnerable animals for a short time in your own home – and by doing so, you will be setting these animals up to lead happy, healthy lives.

  • DONATE – Monetary donations of any amount are always very much appreciated.  We are a 501c3 organization, so any donations you make are tax deductible. We also gladly accept donations of animal care items, cleaning supplies, and gift cards. For an easy, secure way to donate using your credit card, just click the yellow "Donate" button!

  • BECOME A MEMBER - Benefits include discounts on adoptions and spay/neuter services, an invitation to the annual membership meeting, and receiving email and regular mail correspondence.  You can become an annual member for $25.
Some ways you can volunteer:  
  • Volunteering at our Spay/Neuter Clinic
  • Volunteering with TNR (trap/neuter/return) for community cats
  • Volunteering at our thrift store
  • Socializing our shelter animals, walking dogs, or grooming cats   
  • Helping out at portable adoption events
  • Working fundraisers or supply drives
  • Transporting rescued animals
  • Assisting with shelter maintenance
  • Lawn Care/Landscaping
  • Public Outreach/Education
  • Dog Walking, Bathing, Grooming
  • Cat socializing, brushing
  • Computer/Technical Assistance 
  • Mass Mailings
  • Serving on our Board of Directors, or as one of our coordinators overseeing a specific area of shelter outreach
