We are proud to offer the following services:

  • Spay & Neuter – Cats and Pitbull type dogs are FREE if residing in Franklin County, Dogs are $85-$95. There is an additional $30 fee for females in heat. Pet(s) must be current on rabies vaccinations or one will be given for a fee. Payment must be made in advance, no checks.

  • Microchip Identification - $15. A microchip is a small device about the size of a grain of rice that is implanted beneath your pet's skin. It contains a unique number used to identify the animal. This number links to your contact information in a registry that allows shelters, clinics, veterinarians, and humane organizations to contact you if your lost pet is found. The procedure is a simple injection much like a vaccination.

  • Animal Surrender – NO CHARGE.  If you live in Franklin County and have a animal that you cannot care for then please contact us. It is FREE to turn in a animal and we might have other options to assist you with keeping your pet.  It is against the law to dump or abandon an animal.  Please do the right thing and email the form to us at [email protected] and we will be in touch.

  • Stray Dog or Cat - If you find a stray and are unable to bring the animal to the shelter during business hours you can contact Animal Control to retrieve the animal. They work separate from us so you must call dispatch at 502-875-8582.

  • Animal Licensing – $10 for altered animals; $40 for unaltered animals. If you live within the City limits, your pet is required to have a license.  These can be obtained by visiting the shelter during business hours.  Proof of Rabies is required.

Having your city license or identification tag attached to your pet and your pet microchipped helps the Animal Control Officers and the shelter to reunite you with your pet if lost.  It is a win for everyone.
